Le pocal d´Olives:
This is a reprise of an older song, reaching back to 1981 to pre-LTB times, i.e.
Rocaille. Both intro and vocals were renewed and stretched, completely new is the
instrumental middle section. Pocal integrates elements of classical music with folk
and rock and has a dark-edged mood. It is part one of the Ancient Mariner trilogy.
The third part of it still does not exist, but wait and the somehow cryptic story
hopefully will reveal its sense some day. What you can hear is a section which
you can get addicted to: Water everywhere
.
Lyrics Le pocal d´Olives:
(Music: Fastenmeier / Lyrics: Coleridge, arr. Fastenmeier)
The western wave was all a-flame
the day was well-nigh done;
But why drives on the ship so fast?
The ship went on from ghostly hand
only a longing and feeling for an end.
Water everywhere, water everywhere, water everywhere
Beyond the shadow of the ship
I watched the water snakes
the very deep did rot
that ever this should be
The air is cut away before
and closes from behind
But why drives on the ship so fast?
And in the bay the moonlight lay
the shadow of the moon
Water everywhere, water everywhere, water everywhere
The ice was here, the ice was there
the ice was all around
it cracked and roared and howled
like noises in a swound
